The ABLE (A Business Leadership Exchange) Network was created to support Florida businesses as they strive for a disability inclusive workforce. The Able Trust’s leadership network and resource guides help businesses remove barriers and engage all of Florida’s talent pool.
The ABLE Network is a B2B/peer-to-peer program for business leaders committed to diversity and inclusion. The network supports businesses that want to educate, empower, and employ Floridians with disabilities, and fosters business-to-business learning and best practices.
Employment of people with disabilities is an economic imperative for our state and our country. It is estimated that 31% of people with disabilities who could and want to be employed are not. According to international consulting firm Accenture, disability inclusive companies stand to gain as much as 28% higher revenues, double the net income, and 30% higher economic profit margins than peers who are not disability inclusive.
ABLE Network members have the opportunity to:
Learn from their business peers about proven strategies to advance disability inclusion in the work- and marketplace.
Cultivate relationships between business, community, and academic partners in order to tap into one of Florida’s hidden pipelines of talent.
Engage in educational opportunities and gain access to resources and information to facilitate more inclusive practices.
Become thought leaders for disability workforce and marketplace inclusion.
The Able Trust -- an independent, nonprofit, endowment foundation dedicated to providing Floridians with disabilities opportunities for successful employment -- provides the tools, resources, consultation, and technical assistance for network businesses throughout Florida.
The Able Trust supports numerous workforce development projects and career preparation programs for students and adults with broad range of differing abilities. The trust was established in 1990 by the Florida Legislature as a Direct Support Organization of the Division of Vocational Rehab for the Florida Department of Education. Over the past 30 years, The Able Trust has worked with organizations in every county in Florida to put thousands of people with disabilities to work. We are the community foundation for the disabled community and invite you to be a part of our very important work.
