Tapping The Hidden Job Market, with Bill Santos; Webinar hosted by The Able Trust

Tapping The Hidden Job Market was hosted virtually by The Able Trust on October 20, 2020. During times of high employment, it is more important than ever for job developers to have the skills for tapping into the hidden job market and demonstrating value to employers. According to research, 80% of all the jobs available in the community are in the Hidden Market. If your job development activities are going to produce results, you must understand the employment markets. In the Hidden Job Market, it is up to the job developer to uncover the employer's desire for an exchange and reveal their needs. The job developer must initiate the contact because seldom will the employer come looking for you. In this webinar, we explore strategies for tapping into the Hidden Job Market and establishing value with employers which leads to a transactional exchange…i.e. hiring our consumers! The Able Trust hosts this conversation with Bill Santos, President/Partner of Employment Management Professionals Oakville, a consulting and training firm specializing in employment outcomes strategy and skill development for organizations/staff serving people with employment barriers. A Townhall on Florida’s Accessible Transportation Future was hosted virtually by The Able Trust on September 2, 2020. Every 5 years, the Florida Department of Transportation updates its long-range plan to adjust for opportunities and challenges that need to be addressed for land, sea, air & even space travel.  Representatives from the Florida Transportation Plan (FTP) Planning Team were on the webinar and eager to hear from Floridians about what is needed to ensure that individuals with disabilities and their families can live, work, learn, play, and raise a family in Florida.  A majority of the townhall consisted of hearing from over 20 people across the state that had prepared comments regarding what is working well and what is not in the world of transportation and accessibility. Townhall attendees participated in the live chat and submitted questions. We have invited everyone to give input into the Florida Transportation Plan by emailing comments to Transportation@AbleTrust.org or by posting videos or comments to social media with the hashtag #AbleTrust.  Comments submitted by September 30 will be forwarded directly to the FTP Steering Committee. To watch or listen to a replay of the webinar click on the image below. For a written transcript of the webinar CLICK HERE.
