Disability Mentoring Day Kick-Off and Career Fair
The 2008 Florida DMD Kickoff Celebration & Career Fair was the preeminent statewide event for high school and college students with disabilities to connect with business and community leaders that have an interest in hiring, retention and marketing to people with disabilities. This year's event provided informational and educational opportunities of the highest quality. On October 2, 2008, The Florida Disability Mentoring Day Kickoff Celebration and Career Fair was held at the Rosen Centre Hotel with over 600 students, employers and mentors in attendance. The event was hosted by The Able Trust in partnership with the Florida DMD Statewide Planning Committee.
Activities included:
- Networking with Public and Private Employer Booths
- Assistive Technology Exhibits and Demonstrations
- Educational sessions
- Hands-on interview and resume building workshops
- DMD Kickoff Breakfast and Keynote Luncheon
