Employer Resources
For Service Providers
The Florida BLN welcomes Florida, for-profit businesses to join the organization. The Florida BLN acknowledges and values the vital contributions of our Service Provider Partners and welcomes their participation and partnership in our efforts. Service Provider Partners include community-based organizations; non-profit groups; federal, state or local government agencies; and other boards or committees, which provide services to people with disabilities. Service Provider Partners may participate in Florida BLN events.
Local BLN Chapters affiliated with the Florida BLN are employer-led/employer-driven, with an 85% membership consisting of for-profit business representatives. Therefore Service Provider participation in local BLN activities is dependent on each individual chapter meeting this guideline.
BLN/Service Provider Partnerships
Several Service Provider Partners have developed successful partnerships with their local Business Leadership Network by forming an alliance and working together to provide support to BLN employers seeking to hire people with disabilities. One such example is the Job Opportunities Consortium, which serves as a liaison to the First Coast BLN chapter in Jacksonville.
The Job Opportunities Consortium (JOC) is a network of agencies and supporting organizations which advocate on behalf of job candidates with disabilities. The JOC is dedicated to educating the community about the benefits of employing people with disabilities. The JOC seeks to develop productive affiliations with Jacksonville area employers and offers them a single point of reference.
